Veterans Resource Center (VRC)

The Veterans Resource Center provides Educational Benefits, VRC Resources, Camaraderie, and Community Resources to veteran students of Fullerton College. Students that are members or former members of the Armed Forces of the United States are granted priority registration.

The VRC also hosts a Veterans Club that meets weekly and is open to all students. The VRC and Veteran club host numerous events throughout the year such as the Veteran’s Career and Resource Fair, Veterans Appreciation Week, a care package drive and packing party, forums, film screenings, and orientation for new incoming veteran students.

Fullerton College has been designated a Military Friendly Campus.

Student Health Services

The Fullerton College Student Health Services provides full and part time students quality health care in maintaining and improving their physical and mental health. Health Services is staffed with a variety of professionals who are trained to assist you in a specialized and confidential manner. The Health Center can be found next to the gymnasium, Room 1204, with its entrance under the blue awning. As described by Student Health Services, appointments with a physician, nurse practitioner, or nurse may be made in person or by phone. Appointments with a mental health professional must be made in person. A registered nurse is on duty at all open Health Center hours.

Disabled Student Services (DSS)

DSS is available to all students with a verifiable disability. DSS offers a full complement of services to students, including personalized counseling, note taking services, extended time for exams, on site test taking accommodations, as well as media aids for the visually and hearing impaired. One common misconception about DSS is that it is limited to those with physical disabilities. In fact, DSS is available to students with a wide range of disabilities, from physical impairments, to learning disabilities. DSS is located behind the 800 building, directly across from Stingers Café.

Financial Aid

The financial aid office provides all aspects of assistance when it comes to paying for college. In addition to help with the FAFSA, the financial aid office provides information on other aid programs and waivers that are specific to Fullerton College. The office is located in building 100, room 115 and to save time, students can wait in line virtually through text, kiosk, or internet and be notified when 5 minutes of waiting time remain.

Writing Center

Location: ASC#808 (behind the library – main entrance, next to Tutoring Center)

Operation hours: M-Th: 9AM-7PM; F: 10-2PM

  • Walk-in 30-minute tutoring available on a first come-first served basis; appointment preferred
  • Assisting to any writing projects at any stages of the writing process with certified peers and ESL/English faculty tutors
  • Offering FREE writing workshops on variety of topics
  • Helping in generating ideas, developing ideas, improving editing skills, writing effective sentences, and proofreading skills

FCMILES – Math Institute for Learning Enhancement Success

Location: ASC#801B (behind the library – main entrance, turn right at the Skills Center)

Operation hours: Tuesdays: 2-5PM @ASC#801C; Wednesdays: 9-12PM @ASC#808A

  • Offering by SDSI program, including: computer/laptop access, tutoring support, counseling, life skills coaching, math skills confidence & academic success
  • Assisting students developing their math skills, learning how to learn math with ALEKS math software

Associated Students

The Associated Students of Fullerton College consists of elected and appointed members including the A.S. President, A.S. Vice President, Vice President of Activities, Vice President of Finance, Inter-Club Council (I.C.C.) President, Senators, and Student Representatives. The Student Trustee is an elected representative of the students that sits on the Board of Trustees and the college district.Elections for these positions take place every spring semester for the following school year.

Associated Students is the governing body responsible for advocating for all students. All elected officers serve as representatives on campus, district, and state committees that make decisions that directly affect all students.

The Associated Students and Inter-Club Council are also responsible for the design and promotion of student activities such as Club Rush, annual music festival Quadcella, activities during WorldFest, and much more.

The Student Senate formally meets every Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in the College Center, Room 227. The Inter-Club Council meetings are every other Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the College Center, Room 227. All students and community members are welcome to attend as guests.

Supplemental Instruction (SI)

The SI program is designed to help students succeed by placing successful students into the classroom environment. SI leaders attend class and hold study sessions outside of class to enhance learning and understanding of the course material. In addition to going over relevant class material, a typical SI session will touch on study habits, strategies, and skills, and will seek to find ways to help students be better learners, so that they may master the course material as well as the process of learning.

Library

The Fullerton College library offers a plethora of resources that include books, computers, printers, a copy center, personalized research assistance at the reference desk, databases, an online catalog and library aids. Additionally, there are available rooms that can be used for group projects, student meetings, or study groups. On the first floor, at the reserve counter, textbooks, portable laptops, and ethernet cables can be rented out. The circulation desk allows students to borrow headphones, phone chargers, and flash drives. Scantron forms, blue books, highlighters, pens, pencils, and feminine products can also be purchased. This two story building that is located in the center of campus has handicap access for both floors.
